Cllr. Cara McShane

Cara McShane is from Ballintoy and has been a Sinn Féin Councillor since first topping the poll in 2005. She is the current Chair of the Corporate Policy committee and is the Diversity Champion in Causeway Coast and Glens Council.

A Masters graduate in Human Rights Law, she has championed many social, economic and environmental issues throughout her years in electoral politics.

Cara has continued an impressive record of hard-work and delivery for people in this area, recently helping to secure £8.1m for Ballycastle’s new swimming pool, indoor leisure facility and accessible play park. She has been a member of Sinn Féin since she was 16 and has had many senior leadership roles, including Party Administrator in the North’s Assembly.
