Cllr Darren Totten

Married with three children, Darren has served as a Sinn Féin Councillor since 2014 and currently sits on the Policy and Resource Committee and the Environment Committee.

A well-known community activist, Darren has been central to the organisation of several community events, cleans ups and local area development.

Since the formation of the home heating oil buying club Darren has worked to ensure as many people as possible, particularly those experiencing fuel poverty, can avail of the saving which collective purchase can offer. It is one of the largest voluntary Oil Clubs in Ireland.

Darren believes that local Councillors must focus on serving the local community. He hopes to continue to work for and provide a voice for all the people of Magherafelt.
