Cllr. Jim Brennan

Raised in the West of Scotland to Dublin parents, Jim’s family were part of the vibrant Irish diaspora. Growing up in Scotland, Jim’s heart had always belonged to Ireland, where he has lived now for over 20 years.

Meeting the love of his life, Maria, he settled in South Down where they lived with their daughter Beth. Jim has been involved with Sinn Féin in the area for over 10 years and is passionate about working for the benefit of his local community.

Jim sadly lost his wife last year, after a battle with cancer, and has since dedicated his time to serving as your Sinn Fein Councillor replacing his predecessor Cathy Mason MLA , following the Assembly Election in May 2022.
