Cllr Thomas O’Reilly

Thomas O’Reilly, born in County Fermanagh in 1964, spent his early life on the family farm on Derrykerrib Island. Returning to Ireland in 1990 Thomas was first elected to Fermanagh District Council in 2001.

Thomas served as Chairman of Fermanagh District Council three times and is currently Chairperson of the Council’s planning committee. He also served one term as MLA for Fermanagh and South Tyrone.

With a keen interest in education, Thomas serves on the Board of Governors of St Marys PS Newtownbutler and is Chairperson of St Kevin’s College Lisnaskea.

Thomas is a founding member of the Clones-Erne East Partnership, a cross border body comprising Fermanagh and Monaghan councillors.

Born and raised on the shores of Lough Erne, he is interested in fully developing the tourism potential of the lakes of the council area.
