Sinn Féin MP Órfhlaith Begley has described racist graffiti in Omagh as ‘disgusting and deplorable’.
The West Tyrone MP said:
“The racist graffiti which has appeared in Omagh is disgusting and deplorable.
“The sinister display of a swastika and a cross sight is a despicable attempt to create fear and stir up hate.
“Racism, hatred, intimidation and discrimination wherever it raises its ugly head, must be opposed, challenged and stamped out.
“Omagh is a proudly welcoming, inclusive and diverse community.
“We will continue to champion and embrace the huge positives of diversity, and stand with everyone who calls this island home.
“I have contacted the PSNI to ensure this disgraceful expression of hatred is removed and properly investigated.”
