Budget underlines Executive’s commitment to health – McGuigan

Sinn Féin’s health spokesperson Philip McGuigan MLA has welcomed the agreement of the budget by the Executive.
It will see funding to cut waiting lists and supporting investment in elective care, a Programme for Government priority, totalling £215 million for 2025/26.
The Chair of the Health Committee said this again demonstrates the Executive’s commitment to health.
“Today’s announcement of an agreed budget is welcome news and another positive settlement for health.
“As work continues toward building a better and modern health system, it’s important we continue to cut waiting lists and invest in elective care.
“The Executive has consistently prioritised health, and that is again displayed in today’s budget by the four-party Executive.
“I’m determined to continue working with Executive ministers and the other parties to improve our health service for patients, workers and families.”
