24 October 2025
Sinn Féin MLA Pádraig Delargy has welcomed the continued success of the Alchemy business support programme and praised Economy Minister Caoimhe Archibald for her ongoing support.
The Alchemy initiative, delivered by Derry City and Strabane District Council, provides expert advice, mentoring and funding support to start-ups and existing firms throughout the region.
Since its launch, the programme has supported thousands of local businesses to innovate, grow and expand into new markets.
The Foyle MLA said:
“Alchemy is a fantastic example of the kind of practical, hands-on support that makes a real difference to people starting or growing their business. It has helped countless local entrepreneurs turn their ideas into reality, creating new jobs, attracting investment and strengthening our local economy.”
He continued:
“I want to commend Economy Minister Caoimhe Archibald and Derry City and Strabane District Council for continuing to back this vital programme. It demonstrates a real commitment to regional balance and to ensuring the north west has the same access to innovation and enterprise support as anywhere else.
“The north west has enormous potential. We have the talent, creativity and drive to play a leading role in the continued growth of our local economy. Alchemy is helping to build that foundation, providing practical support that allows businesses in our community to flourish.
“Sinn Féin will continue working to build a stronger, fairer economy for workers and families across the north.”
