‘Irish language organisations deserve fair funding’ – Delargy 

Joining Irish language activists in a protest at Stormont, Sinn Féin MLA Pádraig Delargy has called for fair and sustainable funding for the sector.

“Grassroots Irish language organisations have led the ongoing revival of the language with impressive energy and excitement,” said the Foyle MLA.

“Fair funding is essential to ensuring these organisations remain sustainable and continue to thrive.

“Across the island, the Irish language is flourishing, with record numbers of young people and adults learning the language.

“The north-south implementation bodies do important work and deserve our support and proper funding.

“Sinn Féin will continue working to strengthen and champion the Irish language and the rich benefits it brings to our people and society.”
