No place for threats or intimidation in our society – Lynch and McCleave
23 March 2025
Sinn Féin councillors Declan Lynch and Gary McCleave have said there is no place for threats or intimidation in our society after leaflets linked to a loyalist paramilitary group were distributed in a mixed housing estate.
The Lisburn & Castlereagh City Councillors were speaking after leaflets bearing the logo of the UFF were distributed to homes in Altona Drive and Altona Gardens in Lisburn.
Cllr McCleave said:
“I have been contacted by residents about these leaflets, and they are determined not to let them divide the area.
“Those responsible for distributing these leaflets need to get off the back of our communities and end their destructive activities.”
Cllr Lynch echoed these sentiments saying:
“There is no place for threats or intimidation in a society determined to move forward.
“These reports again demonstrate that loyalist paramilitaries should disband and disappear.”
