Political leaders must call out sectarian intimidation of Lisburn residents – Baker
2 May 2025
Sinn Féin MLA Danny Baker has said the ongoing intimidation of residents in Lisburn’s Altona Drive must be challenged by political and community leaders.
He was speaking after it was reported that residents are being targeted in late night ‘drive-bys’.
This follows a number of flags being erected in the area as well as letters sent to homes in the area bearing the UFF logo.
“The ongoing intimidation of residents in Altona Drive, fuelled by sectarianism and hate, must be challenged and called out unequivocally by political and community leaders in Lisburn and beyond,” said the West Belfast MLA.
“Residents are living in real fear as faceless thugs target them and their families in their own homes.
“Political representatives must speak with one voice —all sectarianism and intimidation is wrong, no matter where it raises its ugly head.”
