Progress on bilingual Gaeltacht Quarter road signage welcome – Reilly

14 March 2025

Sinn Féin MLA Aisling Reilly has welcomed positive steps forward in erecting bilingual traffic signage in parts of west Belfast’s Gaeltacht Quarter.

She was speaking after Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins said today progress is being made on the pilot scheme.

The party’s lead on the Irish language said:

“It’s hugely positive news that good progress is being made on the erection of bilingual signage in the Gaeltacht Quarter.

“I also welcome the engagement Minister Kimmins has had with Conradh na Gaeilge on this signage to ensure it exemplifies best practice.

“The Irish language is thriving in communities throughout Ireland, and it is only right that we continue to increase its visibility and accessibility for all.

“Sinn Féin will continue to support the energetic revival of the language.”
