‘Racist graffiti is disgusting and deplorable’ – Maskey

Sinn Féin MP Paul Maskey has described racist graffiti which appeared in parts of west Belfast over the last week as ‘disgusting and deplorable’.

The West Belfast MP said:

“The racist graffiti which has appeared in some of our communities over the last week is disgusting and deplorable.

“Racism, wherever it raises its ugly head, must be opposed, challenged and stamped out.”

Paul Maskey also spoke of the majority of people in west Belfast who reject these warped actions:

“West Belfast is a proudly welcoming, inclusive and diverse community. 

“The majority of the people I speak to each and every day stand against racism, hatred, intimidation and discrimination.

“We will continue to champion and embrace the huge positives of diversity, and stand with everyone who calls this island home.”
