Sinn Féin announce Committee Chairs – it’s time to get to work

25 April 2025

Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald this afternoon announced Sinn Féin’s seven Oireachtas Committee Chairs, with four men and three women appointed to these key roles.

She said the government needs to end the delays and speed up their go-slow process so the Committees can now get to work quickly.

Ms. McDonald said:

“Today I am announcing our seven Chairs to key Oireachtas Committees. This is the largest number of committees that Sinn Féin has ever chaired in the Dáil, and are committees that will set the political direction for the coming years in ensuring zero tolerance for the waste of taxpayers money, having a migration system that works and standing up for Irish neutrality.

“Our chairs will work day and night to deliver for workers and families, to hold this government to account and to ensure taxpayers money is spent properly.

“It is vital that all committees get to work quickly. The government have stalled for long enough and instead of dragging this work out for another month they need to speed up the process and allow Committees to get to work.”
