Chris Hazzard MP
Chris Hazzard is a young, dynamic and effective MP. He is widely recognised as a strong voice for South Down and made history in 2017 when he was elected as the first ever Sinn Féin MP for the constituency. Chris is to the fore in promoting the huge untapped potential of South Down; prioritising economic development, sustainable tourism and infrastructure, including the Narrow Water Bridge. Rooted in his local community, he is a champion for our rural way of life – for our fishing and coastal communities, our farmers and rural businesses. Always ready to support those in need, Chris has led the community response to wildfires, floods and snowstorms – leadership that helped deliver £15m flood relief for local businesses and the Mourne Recovery Plan after the 2021 wildfire.
